How We’re Wearing Whites this Season

Nothing quiet captures the clean elegance of winter like a crisp white look. The epitome of chic

Winter Whites Story

During the holiday season, bold colours like red and burgundy rule the roost, but with clean start of the new year and the winter season, we lean into winter whites for that chic yet calm refresh to the wardrobe. And there’s nothing like a monochrome white look or even just a bold white base with some muted colours on top to give you that bold clean vibe in the new year.

Whites in the winter are classic and timeles, giving a chic and unexpected way to brighten up the bleak and often grey days of winter. They are polished without coming accross as too fussy or try hard. And winter white looks end up looking so ultimately ladylike and classic that you’ll stand out in the best way possible.

So how are we wearing it? First of all, if a late fall or winter occasion calls for a dressed up look, this is the perfect time to reach for that beautiful white dress you have, or get one if you haven’t already. A full skirted dress in a tea length gown is formal and elegant without screaming too bridal. (Obviously, avoid this vibe or the colour white in general if you are going to a wedding and you’re not the bride, unless the dress code calls you to). Alternatively, a white mini dress in a luxurious fabric works just as well. When it comes into styling, lean into the clean elegance that white so beautifully evokes with simple yet stunning accessories. Diamonds (real or faux) are truly a girl’s best friend in this case, but my personal preference is for gold jewelry. Gold just looks so classy and chic against white. Classic white pumps and a white box clutch or a gold clutch (if you are doing the gold jewelry) will add another dimension of class to this look. And finally, throw a wool jacket over your shoulder to keep you warm without covering up that gorgeous dress.

For an everyday take on winter whites, you cant’t go wrong pairing white trousers with a white blazer. This look instantly screams chic and powerful whilst still remaining timeless in that, it will never date. Your blazer can be loose fitting and relaxed or structured and cinched depending on if we’re going for a masculine or feminine vibe. Either ways, the chic clean white aesthetic works and comes together very easily without too much fuss or effort. A pair of boots and a leather handbag are the perfect simple touches that will finish off this look beautifully. If you need a coat still, try a faux fur coat draped over your shoulders. You won’t believe just how powerful and elegant you feel and look in this outfit.

Another way to dress it up is to pair a classy white dress with some boots. Am I the only one who is obsessed with midi dresses and tall boots together? I just can’t get enough of that combination where the fullness of the dress swallows up most of the boots just showing the lower leg. I find that combination to be so incredibly chic and sexy and strong. This is how I am wearing my white dresses to the office this winter. And i’m styling it with a long belted brown coat and a large brown tote to match the coat. This way, my white dress is truly the centre of my outfit, giving you a peek here and there as I swish past you on my way to work. This to me is such a feminine way to play with white in the winter seaosn. Of course, you can substitute the brown for any colour you want and truly make it your own.
